About the work

The abstract portfolio images you see on the site originate from one photo, a bit of light reflecting on a pond’s surface at Monet’s Garden in Giverny. From this simple beginning, I work with the reflected light: twisting, layering, coloring and generally playing with it on my mac. It eventually reaches a point beyond itself, a point where all the light and space meet to define something different, something more tangible. To me, it’s a moment of poetics, where two experiences meet to describe another. Kind of like people.

My work primarily concerns itself with these issues of process and how art can transcend its roots to become something beyond its original forms. New digital media is especially interesting to me in this regard; it is unknown territory waiting to be found.

As for the images for children, what can I say. A departure from my usual approach, which was refreshing, and will no doubt carry forward into my next projects. You have been warned!

I hope you enjoy your time on the site. Come back again.
And feel free to write if you are inclined:
